Tell Congress to stop the furlough of USCIS workers

More than 13,000 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) employees are facing furloughs. And we only have a few days to help them.

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) has received notice that the Department of Homeland Security plans to furlough some 70% of workers at USCIS due to a budget shortfall partly related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We need Congress to act now and approve $1.2 billion for the agency in order to keep the bargaining unit members on the job.

Being furloughed during a global health crisis would be detrimental to workers and our ability to care for our families.

We must support our labor sisters, brothers and friends at USCIS and contact our U.S. senators and representative now to stop the furlough!
